For your every day needs there is The Village Shop at Home Farm which is next to the Smugglers by the seafront. They sell your usual everyday needs as well as a good selection of fresh fruit and vegetables and also promote local produce. Bread is baked on the premises to order. There is also a general store at Hoburne Holiday Park on the seafront.
There is a very large Boot Fair at Home Farm on most Saturday afternoons throughout the summer.
Blue Anchor Bay has two pubs. The Smugglers which does wonderful good (especially the Sunday Carvery) and is dog friendly. If you want to eat in the restaurant with your dog, then when booking mention that you have your 4 legged friend with you and you will be allocated a table where they will be welcomed. If you stay until after 10 in the evening then you may have the pleasure of meeting Harry, the lovable resident Rotweiller who will be happy to greet both you and your dog (ask to see him do a "High 5" at the bar). Quiz nights and special evenings are often to be enjoyed.

The Driftwood is an old fashioned cafe on the seafront

and another cafe at Hoburne Holiday Park on the seafront.
There is a tea-room at Home Farm where Alison bakes fresh scones for cream teas and visitors to Spindlberry and Bay View are offered a complimentary cup of tea or coffee. The children will be entertained here with toys available for them to play with, a large sandpit and lots of animals to see.
A short walk inland is Binham Grange, a Jacobean farm house who serve coffee, afternoon tea and evening meals in a beautiful setting of landscaped gardens and wide country views. You can visit their website at www.exmoor-restaurant.co.uk.
West Somerset Steam Railway passes through and Blue Anchor has it's own Station


There is a swimming pool at Hoburne which is open to the public.

The seafront at Blue Anchor is about a mile long and perfect for a stroll, with plenty of places to stop for refreshment along the way.
The seafront is a popular spot for anglers, so don't forget to pack your rod if you have one.
There are lovely clifftop, shoreline and country walks.
